It took Jens about half a second to make his mind up to follow Dirk out of the club. The decision was hastened somewhat by the cheerful grin Kai shot him before sliding his arm around Tobi's waist, and hauling him off into the crowd. Fuck it, whatever Dirk had in mind had to be better than just hanging around waiting for Tobi to finish... whatever Tobi was going to be doing.
He knew what Tobi was going to be doing....
They scratched a living alongside human society, most of them doing odd jobs and anything that paid in cash to make ends meet. They hovered around the edges of legality, and lived by their own rules.
Which meant that when the American had turned up with his little pack, nobody was expecting the chaos that they brought with them. Organised and savage, they had cut a swathe through the city's underworldand then they'd started on the established pack structure. It had been mayhem....
"Fuck," said nearly everybody, but Dirk was one of the first to reach the pair who had, by now, descended into flat out brawling along the aisle of the bus. It didn't take long before pretty much everyone was involved; the two combatants wriggled and punched, screamed at each other and it was much, much harder than it should have been to separate them....
"I'm going back to the hotel in a minute," he said, "you wanna come?"
"Sure," he said, despite the fact that the agreement meant that he would be missing several bands he really wanted to seeand Jens had told him that there was a girl he should meet, yeah, trust me Tobi, you'll like this one--
Sometimes, it felt like they'd never stopped being teenagers....
Great stuff. I'm so intrigued. (And no worries on the upload error :). I made a similar mistake once and kicked myself afterwards when I didn't realize for days that I'd uploaded a chapter update to the entirely wrong story.) But anyway... I went back and read your new chapter 2 and then re-read what is now chapter 3. I really like your writing style, and Bruce and Adrian and so interesting together, especially in this era of unrest in the band. Looking forward to the next installment. —Pigatron, for allmysecretsout's The Wheel of Time
